Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR SHOOTS OR WEDDINGS?Although I'm primarily a photographer in Windhoek, I absolutely love to travel. Nothing is more exciting than heading off to another town or remote wedding venue to shoot. I absolutely love experiencing new places and cultures. If your wedding venue is way out of my area I do charge a travelling fee.

WE’RE PLANNING THINGS FAR IN ADVANCE. HOW SOON CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR SHOOT?I prefer to limit bookings to one year in advance in order to ensure accuracy with pricing and availability. I do make exceptions every now and then. The sooner you book, the better, as I have limited availability and my calendar fills up quickly.
-
HOW DO WE SECURE THE DATE WITH YOU?To secure the date with us, we require our booking fee and a signed copy of the Photography Contract. It does take a while to fill out all the forms so I accept the booking fee as the same binding.

DO I REALLY NEED A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?In most cases, you'll want a second photographer for a lot of practical reasons, and not only for the standard ones (getting ready in two separate locations and a large number of guests). There's also the logistics of how to shoot the walk down the aisle. Think about it: You'll want your walk and your fiance's reaction to it, your vows and your parents' reactions. You get the point -- multiple things happen simultaneously at weddings and they're all worth capturing, from getting ready to the ceremony, couple's shoot and reception.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL YOU GIVE US ON THE USB DRIVE?This depends on the package you put together for yourself. The minimum amount is 300 that I give to you on a USB Drive for 6 hours of photography coverage. You may choose more ofcourse. It all depends on what you want from the package options. I cover everything during the time that you've booked me. Some clients feel 30 photos are more than enough for a specific moment captured while others want more. Your photos will also be available for viewing and download for free in an online gallery on my Website (Link)

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED FOR PHOTOS?Reception Decor: 30 minutes. Its best to do the decor shots before we start with the brides and grooms preparations so that your guests wont have to wait to enter the reception. You just need to make sure that your decor company is finished with the reception when our coverage starts. Grooms Preparations: 60 minutes. We ask our gents to make sure they aren’t dressed when we arrive as we will love photographing the “getting ready” process. Brides Preparations: 90 minutes. We ask our brides to time that their makeup artist finishes their makeup about 20 minutes after we arrive, as then we can maximise time spent with the bride. Family & Group Shots: 30 minutes. This depends on the size of your family and the number of guests. Creative Shoot: 60-90 minutes. I do shoot quite quickly, but it is nice to have more than hour so we can spend some time making some truly memorable photos. Reception: This is completely up to our couples – I just need the times of the formalities before the wedding. It also depends on the amount of hours you would like to book me for your reception. Once the time line has been established we can best plan your reception photography coverage.

WHAT TIME SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR WEDDING CEREMONY?If you want to get the best creative photos, its a great idea to schedule your wedding ceremony to finish about an hour and a half to two hours before sunset on your wedding day. You can refer to https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/namibia/windhoek to check sunset times on the day of your wedding. Or you can just ask us! Being a wedding photographer in Windhoek, we have to watch the sunset activity.
